Presenting Job Instructions Using an Augmented Reality Device, a Printed Manual, and a Video Display for Assembly and Disassembly Tasks: What Are the Differences?

Components assembly and disassembly are fundamental tasks in manufacturing the product service industry. Job instructions required for novice inexperienced workers to perform such tasks. Conventionally, job may be presented via printed manual video display. Augmented reality (AR) device has been one of recent alternatives conveying information. This research compared presentation instruction AR display, a performing computer component terms efficiency, quality, usability. A Microsoft® HoloLens 2 laptop were adopted present conditions, respectively. total 21 healthy adults, including 11 males 10 females, participated study. Our findings that display led least efficiency but best quality task being performed. The differences overall usability scores among three types insignificant. participants felt support from technical person was significantly more than manual. More male easier use their female counterparts.
